The longest running(circa 1980) professional racquetball tournament, The Stockton Pro-Am, is always a great time due in large part to John Ellis & his crew. I have been coming here for years and enjoy the hospitality and seeing all the faces new and old. Very special thanks to Pat & Dave Ellis for the most amazing hospitality… Nonstop amazing, authentic, delicious mexican food… When racquetball has 3 or 4 tournament directors per state like John Ellis, the sport will see amazing growth.
Now onto the really important stuff, my partner & I, Tyrone Snipes (the team captain) won the 75 & over….We had a very tough match vs. Mike Lippett & Markie Rojas stealing a 11-9 tiebreaker. In the semis we had a high level match vs. Mike Orr & Scott Winters who caught fire in the 2nd game but we were able to fend them off with Tyrone’s court coverage. Thanks partner!!! Great job on the right. In the finals we took out James Swift and Bill George to bring home the gold!
I also played the Pro division… On a disappointing note, I lost in the round of 16 to a very good & creative Jose Diaz so congrats to him. On a good note, my back health continues to improve and with that so does my fitness, movement, power and serve. I fully plan to continue this trend and I don’t plan to be a push over… I’ll be attending the Ektelon Nationals and with another 2 weeks of good eating, proper practice, hard work & numerous visits to Dr. Mannella at The Disc Institute I believe ANYTHING is possible.
Special thanks to:
